H.O.L.L.A.N.D stands for Hope our love lasts and never dies.
I was born and raised in the Netherlands.
Because the idea for the 70’s Bag was inspired by my Dutch grandmother, I wanted to honor her through my first designs.
The coin attached to the zippered end represents a Dutch one-cent coin from the 1970’s.
My grandmother always kept a big jar of these coins in her home, to play card games with, and I remember them fondly from my childhood.
When I moved to the United States, I noticed everything was bigger, stronger and more convenient compared to Europe. I wanted to translate this modernity into my designs as well. The 70’s Bag itself got 25% bigger and is reinforced to be even stronger. This means the bag can hold more, so we can …SHOP MORE!.
The clasp ring attached to the zipper end makes the bag more convenient to clip to your handbag for easy access. You can also attach it to your shopping cart or your car keys so you will not forget them when you don’t have your pocketbook around.
